La Liga giants Barcelona boast an advantage over all other clubs when it comes to the potential signing of a headline member of the midfield ranks at Manchester City.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have provided an insight into the situation in the early hours of Tuesday.
The player in question comes in the form of Bernardo Silva.
Portuguese international Silva has of course been tipped to make the move to Barcelona on a whole host of occasions in the past.
As much comes with the 29-year-old’s technical and tactical brilliance alike fitting ideally into the Blaugrana blueprint.
To date, a transfer has failed to come to fruition, owing largely to the inability of the board at the Camp Nou to come up with the required funds to strike a deal with their counterparts in Manchester.
As alluded to above, though, in the case of Deco and co. scraping together precisely that, Pep Guardiola’s side would essentially be left with no option but to bid Silva farewell.
This comes with the aforementioned MD having confirmed that, as part of the terms of his latest contract, through the summer of 2026, the versatile midfielder ‘signed a ‘pro Barça’ exit clause of 50 million pounds’.
Silva, evidently, is keen to take his talents to Catalunya’s capital at some point down the line.
It now remains to be seen whether the will of Barcelona to join forces is as strong.
