Borussia Dortmund opened their 2022/23 season in convincing style with a 3-0 DFB-Pokal first round away win over 1860 München tonight.

Donyell Malen scored the opener in the eighth minute before Jude Bellingham made it 2-0 just after the half hour mark.

Malen then provided the assist for Karim Adeyemi, who scored his first goal in a Dortmund shirt to effectively kill off the game before the break.

Earlier tonight, Stuttgart also booked their second-round ticket with a narrow 1-0 win over Dynamo Dresden in a game that saw ‘Die Schwaben’ reduced to 10 men when Waldemar Anton was sent off midway through the second half.

Karlsruhe and Nürnberg are through to the next round as well, having beaten Neustrelitz and Kaan-Marienborn, respectively.
