AS Monaco manager Philippe Clement has revealed that Malang Sarr (24), Myron Boadu (22) and Breel Embolo (26), will all be absent for Les Monégasques’ match against Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace on Sunday.
As revealed by Nice-Matin, Embolo is out for several weeks with a knee sprain. The Monaco forward was forced to withdraw from the Switzerland squad during the international break. However, he has now been joined on the sidelines by two more Monégasques.
The first is Sarr, who is suffering from some muscular discomfort. Although Clement said the issue wasn’t serious, he will not feature in Sunday’s Ligue 1 fixture against Strasbourg. Boadu is also absent. The Dutchman had an operation on his tonsils and was still feeling pain.
Gelson Martins is also a doubt. Get French Football News attended Friday’s training session in La Turbie and can reveal that Martins joined Sarr in undergoing an individual training session. However, unlike Sarr, Martins has a good chance of being fit for Sunday, despite sustaining a foot injury in training earlier this week.
In more positive news for the Principality club, Ismaïl Jakobs, Aleksandr Golovin and Kevin Volland all participated in collective training after having missed the final game before the international break due to injury.
