Mainz confirm Onisiwo injury

Karim Onisiwo will be out for weeks after injuring his ankle in Mainz’s draw with Darmstadt.

Mainz 05 will be without Karim Onisiwo for the coming weeks.


The Bundesliga side confirmed on Tuesday that the striker suffered ankle ligament damage in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Darmstadt.

As a result, Onisiwo will be sidelined until December.

Die Nullfünfer sit in 16th place after a disappointing start to the season.

31-year-old Onisiwo has yet to find the back of the net this season, but has provided three assists in 11 appearances.
