Mainz 05 are waiting for Aaron Martin to make a decision on his future, according to sporting director Christian Heidel.
The 25-year-old left-back is out of contract in 2023, and it’s currently unclear if he will stay or leave the club.
“Everything is open. We are currently neither in negotiations with a club nor are we negotiating with Aaron about a contract extension,” Heidel told Kicker.
“He has to make a fundamental decision: Does he prefer to stay with us and sign an extension or does he want a transfer? That will certainly be clarified in the near future, we are in agreement with his management on that,” he added.
