Sport Bild reports that on loan VfB Stuttgart midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud is unlikely to stay at the club beyond the expiration of his loan in the summer.
Stuttgart reportedly have a buy option in the loan agreement with Brighton said to be worth €10m but are unlikely to activate it as they have been unimpressed by the former Borussia Mönchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund midfielder.
Since joining in January, Dahoud has played nine times for Stuttgart and scored once against Darmstadt but his only start came at the weekend in a 3-3 draw with Heidenheim. Dahoud has seemingly struggled to break the midfield duopoly of Angelo Stiller and Atakan Karazor at Stuttgart.
Stuttgart are currently comfortably third in the Bundesliga and looks increasingly like they will return to the Champions League for the first time in over 10 years. It is a testament to the work head coach Sebastian Hoeneß has done at the club during his year in charge, turning them around from fighting relegation to fighting for European places.
