Felix Magath has said he is ready to take over as Germany coach if he is offered the job.

Felix Magath has thrown his hat into the ring for the vacant Germany job.

“In my opinion, we urgently need somebody who can bring this completely unsettled team back together. And I think I’m capable of building up shaky teams and giving them confidence so that they can perform very well again,” said the 70-year-old coaching veteran.

“I’ve taken some teams from the bottom to mid-table or even back to the top of the Bundesliga – and I think that’s what the DFB needs at the moment.”

However, Magath doesn’t appear to be among the candidates being discussed by the DFB, with reports suggesting Julian Nagelsmann is the frontrunner.

Magath most recently coached Hertha for the final three months of the 2022/23 season, helping the capital club avoid relegation.

He has won the Bundesliga three times as a coach, twice with Bayern Munich and once with VfL Wolfsburg.
