Olympique Lyonnais’s Rémi Himbert (18) is reported to have fallen out of favour with Paulo Fonseca and his coaching staff, according to information from L’Équipe.
Thrown in at the deep end last season, the young forward established himself as one of the standout performers in the Lyon squad, proving decisive on four occasions (three goals, one assist) in 11 appearances. His momentum carried over into the early summer, as he scored two hat-tricks in OL’s first two pre-season matches.
But the situation now appears to have changed for the Saint-Alvold native, who has made just one appearance for the first team – in the 2-0 victory over Toulouse FC – since the start of the season. This is inevitably a difficult situation for Himbert, who must now set about regaining the coaching staff’s confidence in order to re-establish himself in the first-team squad and build on the promising form he showed last season.
