According to L’Équipe, Olympique Lyonnais are open to selling midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles, just months after the Englishman joined on a free transfer.
Following the expiry of the England international’s Arsenal contract in the summer, Lyon brought him to the Groupama Stadium. However, amidst a turbulent few months at the club, Maitland-Niles has struggled to impose himself at the Ligue 1 club.
Skelly Alvero, Dejan Lovren, Mama Baldé all on the transfer list
He has made just seven appearances, but made a positive cameo appearance against AS Monaco earlier in December, registering his first assist for the club in a narrow 1-0 victory.
However, his time at Lyon could be cut short. Despite signing a contract until the summer of 2027, L’Équipe report that he could be sold in January. Maitland-Niles, as well as Skelly Alvero, Dejan Lovren and Mama Baldé will all be sold during the upcoming transfer window if a seller is found.
