TZ München reports that Bayern Munich are already looking for a replacement for Benjamin Pavard who is pushing to leave the club this summer.
A potential replacement is Feyenoord’s Lutsharel Geertruida, the defender is similar to Pavard as in the fact that they can play as a centre-back as well as a right-back. There has been contact between Bayern and Geertruida but negotiations between the two have yet to begin.
Earlier this summer, Geertruida had attracted interest from RB Leipzig as they looked for a replacement for Joško Gvardiol but instead, they turned their attentions towards Castello Lukeba as the Dutch international proved to be too expensive. Leipzig had previously offered €30m for Geertruida but the Dutch champions wanted closer to €36m which Leizpig deemed as too expensive. This is likely the price that will be quoted once again if Bayern’s interest in the defender becomes more concrete.
Pavard is continuing to push to leave Bayern this summer and has attracted interest from Manchester United and more recently Inter Milan but Bayern have been reluctant to allow the 27-year-old to leave as Thomas Tuchel sees him as a part of his plans.
