RB Leipzig’s Castello Lukeba has been touted as a potential replacement for Dayot Upamecano at Bayern Munich should the latter choose not to extend his expiring contract.
According to Belgian transfer market insider Sacha Tavolieri, writing for the Swiss edition of Sky, the French defender could see himself joining the German champions.
Sky has reported that Lukeba will be available for €80 million next summer due to a release clause, which will drop further to €65 million in 2027.
Other top clubs such as Liverpool and Tottenham are also said to be monitoring the 21-year-old.
When asked about his future in an interview with Bild last month, Lukeba did not make a clear commitment to RB Leipzig.
“My goal is to return to Europe with Leipzig. Watching the Champions League only on TV is extremely painful. Beyond that, I don’t think further,” he said.
