Lucas Ocampos wants to return to Sevilla from Ajax, report Marca.
The Argentine winger joined Ajax on loan for a fee of €4m in the summer, with the Dutch club having the option to purchase Ocampos permanently at the end of the season for €16m.
However, the 28-year-old failed to fulfill expectations in Amsterdam and wants to return to the Andalucían capital as soon as possible.
He has not played a single minute for Ajax since October and the Eredivisie outfit are keen to offload Ocampos this January.
Following the departure of Isco and Kasper Dolberg, Sevilla are in the market to revitalise their attack. While Ocampos would most certainly be part of their solution to climb out of the relegation zone, Los Nervionenses may not have enough space in their squad for the Argentina international.
Even if Ocampos does end up returning to Sevilla, the club would probably have to pay back part of the €4m that they received from Ajax in the summer – something which they are not ready to do given their current financial situation.
