Liverpool Want to Sign Yan Diomande, Can Afford £87m Price Tag

Liverpool will be able to afford a summer move for RB Leipzig sensation Yan Diomande, journalist Christian Falk has revealed.

The Anfield side are believed to be among three Premier League clubs interested in the Ivory Coast forward, who has taken the Bundesliga by storm since joining Leipzig last year.

Diomande is anticipated to attract significant interest in the summer market, with Manchester City, Manchester United and Bayern Munich all keeping close tabs on the forward.

Leipzig are believed to have placed a €100m (£87m) asking price on the 19-year-old, who is under contract at the club until the summer of 2030.

Liverpool Keen on Yan Diomande

According to Falk, Bayern are unlikely to rival Premier League clubs in the race for Diomande if his asking price remains as high as £87m.

The Bundesliga club view his current valuation as too steep, while all three aforementioned Premier League clubs would be able to meet Leipzig’s demands to sign the promising forward this summer.

Diomande, praised as ‘unbelievable’, has been in exceptional form for Leipzig this season, scoring seven goals and providing five assists in 20 league appearances.

The 19-year-old ranks joint ninth among all Bundesliga players in goal contributions, with England star Harry Kane leading the charts with 24 goals and five assists.

Liverpool reached an agreement to sign promising French defender Jeremy Jacquet during a fairly quiet January transfer window for the defending Premier League winners.

Arne Slot’s side splashed out over £450m last summer, breaking their transfer record twice to sign Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak.

Diomande Could Replace Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah

Liverpool could be forced onto the market for another forward after the season, given the uncertainty surrounding Mohamed Salah’s future at the club.

The Egyptian could decide to call time on his Anfield chapter this season amid long-standing interest from clubs in the Saudi Pro League.

According to reports, Al Ittihad are particularly keen on landing Salah this summer and have already held initial talks over a potential move.

After finishing last season as the Premier League’s top scorer, Salah has struggled in 2025/26, scoring just four goals in 18 top-flight appearances.
