‘Lively’ meeting between Kylian Mbappé and PSG president concerned financial disputes

Yesterday, Le Parisien reported that there was an argument witnessed between Kylian Mbappé (25) and the president of Paris Saint-Germain Nasser Al-Khelaifi before the game against Toulouse FC on Sunday evening.

This report has since been strenuously denied by a club spokesman, who stated “There was no dispute between the player and the president. They’ve met regularly before matches to finalise the departure at the end of the season. Each meeting has been constructive and respectful, including (Sunday’s) meeting.”

PSG deny there was a clash between Kylian Mbappé and the club president

RMC Sport alleges that the conversation – which sources speaking to them refer to as “lively” – was intended to resolve financial disputes before the Frenchman’s departure to Real Madrid. They report that there remains one last point that needs to be resolved between the two parties: the bonuses that Mbappé must repay to the club so he does not leave for free.

Mbappé has previously shown himself willing to accept this condition as it was reported in November that he had agreed to forgo around €80 million in bonuses that would be owed to him by the French champions.

RMC Sport state that further meetings have been agreed between Mbappé and Al-Khelaifi with sources telling the French media that they expect this matter to be resolved very quickly.
