Lille OSC forward Jonathan David (25) is in advanced talks to join Serie A giants Napoli, according to a report from Fabrizio Romano.
David’s contract at Lille expires at the end of the campaign. Despite Les Dogues’ attempts to renew the deal, he will leave after five years at the club. During his time with LOSC, he won the Ligue 1 title and this season, he has 25 goals in 48 appearances in all competitions.
Since January, David has been free to discuss a pre-contract agreement with another club. Despite garnering interest from the Premier League, a deal looks most advanced with Napoli. The Serie A giants have submitted a proposal to the centre-forward amid advanced talks between the two parties. However, Romano understands that there are still key details to clarify and further talks are set to take place.
Lille face Stade de Reims in the final game of the Ligue 1 season next Saturday. It looks almost certain to be David’s last for the French club.
