According to Foot Mercato, Lille OSC have rejected BSC Young Boy’s bid for France U20 international Alan Virginius (20). Les Dogues are holding out for a more significant fee.
Virginius signed for Lille as a promising prospect from Sochaux back in the summer of 2022, however, the France U20 international has yet to carve himself out a place in Fonseca’s plans. He has made just three substitute appearances in all competitions this season.
As reported by Foot Mercato, Young Boys are one of a host of clubs interested in Virginius, however, their opening offer has now been rejected by president Olivier Létang.
Young Boys’ proposal was a loan with the option to make the deal permanent for €4.5m, however, this offer has been pushed back, asking for a more significant fee to part ways with the promising young winger. Lille have also rejected an offer from Ligue 1 rivals Clermont Foot.
Virginius is also attracting interest from FC Lorient, AS Saint-Étienne and Championship side Sunderland. No doubt that Lille are hoping to spark a bidding war between the multiple interested parties.
