Ligue 1 results, Round 27
Paris Saint-Germain extended their lead at the top of Ligue 1 thanks to a Kylian Mbappé winner, whilst rivals Olympique de Marseille slipped up at home to Racing Club de Strasbourg.
Lille 3-3 Lyon
A late Alexander Lacazette brace cancelled out a Jonathan David hat-trick, which made the Canadian international Les Dogues’ top-scorer in the 21st century. Neither club’s European aspirations have been bolstered by the result.
Auxerre 0-0 Rennes
Rennes difficult patch of form continued against relegation-struggling Auxerre. Rennes are now four points off fourth-placed Monaco, and Auxerre remain in the relegation zone on goal difference.
Brest 1-2 PSG
Relegation-struggling Brest looked to have salvaged a surprise point against the Ligue 1 champions-elect, but Mbappé burst through in the final minute, rounded the goalkeeper and sealed the three points for Christophe Galtier’s men. They are now 10 points clear of second-placed Marseille.
Clermont Foot 0-4 Lens
Loïs Openda made Ligue 1 history with a four-minute hat-trick. The result allows Le Sang et Or to retake their place on the bottom step of the podium, which they had conceded to Monaco.
Nantes 2-2 Nice
Youssouf Ndayishimiye looked to have secured the victory for Les Aiglons, but with time ticking away, Mostafa Mohamed salvaged a point for Les Canaris. Didier Digard remains unbeaten since replacing Lucien Favre.
Angers 0-2 Toulouse
Angers remain cut adrift at the bottom of the Ligue 1 table. They put up no resistance against a Toulouse side that sit comfortably mid-table.
Ajaccio 0-1 Montpellier
Elye Wahi scored the only goal of a tight game in Corsica. Montpellier have significantly improved since the return of Michel Der Zakarian, and the club look almost certain to be playing Ligue 1 football next season.
Lorient 2-0 Troyes
Troyes are another side that look in danger of the drop. They are three points off 16th after a loss against Les Merlus. Bamba Dieng got on the scoresheet for Lorient.
Monaco 0-1 Reims
Will Still’s incredible unbeaten run continues. Folarin Balogun scored the only goal of the game, his 16th in Ligue 1 this season. Monaco are winless in their past four in all competitions and drop off the podium.
Marseille 2-2 Strasbourg
Despite being down to 10 men for over an hour, Les Phocéens looked to be strolling towards the victory thanks to goals from Chancel Mbemba and Alexis Sánchez, however, they were pegged back by a late Jean-Eudes Aholou double, which was scored in the space of just a minute. Marseille’s brief title challenge looks to have fizzled out.
