Ligue 1 Predictions

GFFN editor-in-chief Raphaël Jucobin and GFFN senior editor Luke Entwistle face off in our Ligue 1 predictions competition. It’s three points for a correct score, two points for a correct score difference, and one point for a correct result. Who will come out on top at the end of the season?

Scores

Raphaël: 172

Luke: 172

Game of the week: OGC Nice v Paris Saint-Germain, Saturday 20:00 (UK)

Luke: Christophe Galtier returns to former club Nice on Saturday, looking to stop the rot with his current club PSG. Les Aiglons have begun to stutter, but Didier Digard remains unbeaten as manager, and his side will be motivated to keep it that way against Galtier, who left the Allianz Riviera in acrimonious circumstances. Lyon’s season looks to have petered out after a disappointing Coupe de France semi-final defeat against Nantes in midweek, and Rennes, on a slightly poor run of form themselves, will be looking to keep within touching distance of the European places.

In a repeat of last season’s Coupe de France semi-final, Monaco travel to Nantes, who will perhaps be heavily legged following their midweek victory over Lyon. Lille and Lens should both stay on track against relegation-fighting opposition, and Marseille will be looking to keep up the pressure on PSG when they travel to Lorient.
