Multiple sources confirm PSV Eindhoven and Leverkusen are in advanced talks for a permanent transfer of the 25‑year‑old shot-stopper, with Kovář eager to secure a starting role at the Dutch champions

Kovář’s career trajectory includes developmental spells across England and Czechia, before trying his luck at Leverkusen. Last season however, he only tallied 15 appearances across all competitions, keeping 9 clean sheets – too little for him and his further development.

Kovář has additionally been reduced to being Leverkusen’s number 3 goalkeeper, after the arrival of Dutch keeper Mark Flekken from Brentford.

With Flekken and Hrádecký ahead in the pecking order, Kovář has been looking for a new club for a while now – and has reportedly found one in PSV Eindhoven.

PSV have lost their goalkeeper Walter Benítez for free to Premier League club Crystal Palace and were in advanced talks with Bayern’s number 3 goalkeeper, Daniel Peretz.

This deal is seemingly falling through however, due to PSV and Bayern reportedly not being able to agree on the financial package or a purchase clause.

Kovář will be officially presented as PSV’s new goalkeeper for the upcoming season shortly.
