According to Kicker, Bayer Leverkusen are interested in Waldemar Anton.
The report claims that Die Werkself showed interest in the Stuttgart centre-back last summer and are still keen on him.
Edmond Tapsoba, Piero Haincapie, Odilon Kossounou and Jonathan Tah are regularly linked with other clubs, especially in the Premier League, and Anton is apparently seen as a player who could fill the gap should any of them leave.
Stuttgart, however, are “doing everything the ycan to ensure that he stays at VfB in the long term,” sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth said recently.
Anton himself said that “if everything feels right”, he could “well imagine” extending his contract beyond 2025, but he also added:
“If something special comes along, I’m not someone who wouldn’t at least listen to it. You have to be that honest.”
