Paulinho is leaving Bayer Leverkusen to join Atletico Mineiro in his home country, Brazil.

Bayer Leverkusen and Paulinho are going separate ways with immediate effect, the Bundesliga outfit have announced today.
The 22-year-old will join Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro on loan until his contract with Leverkusen expires in the summer of 2023.
“Both sides certainly imagined the cooperation in the past years differently,” explained Bayer Leverkusen managing director for sport Simon Rolfes.
“With this transfer for the rest of the current season, we have now found a satisfactory solution for all parties.”
Leverkusen paid €18.5 million to sign Paulinho from Vasco da Gama in 2018. He featured 79 times for ‘Die Werkself’, racking up nine goals and five assists.
