Bayer Leverkusen have confirmed that Joel Pohjanpalo have attracted serious interest from other clubs.
The 27-year-old Finnish striker is set to return from a loan spell at Turkish side Caykur Rizespor at the end of the month, but is likely to move on, with just one year remaining on his contract with ‘Die Werkself’.
“In Leverkusen, of course, he will have huge competition, so it will be difficult,” Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes told Rheinische Post.
“But he was convincing in Turkey, where he had a good record. There are some clubs that are intensively looking at him.”
Pohjanpalo scored 16 goals in 33 games in the Turkish Super Lig last season.
