Benjamin Henrichs had plenty of reason to celebrate after RB Leipzig crushed Freiburg on Tuesday to reach the DFB-Pokal final for the third consecutive season.
“It’s my third season here and for the third time, we’ve reached the final; it’s becoming our competition,” the right-back said in a post-match interview.
“It’s important to win the final now. That’s our aim and given how we played today, that’s our benchmark.
“We haven’t been clinical enough in recent weeks, both in creating and finishing chances. We did that well today, especially in the first half.”
Leipzig lost 4-1 to Borussia Dortmund in the 2020/21 DFB Pokal final, before winning their first German Cup with a penalty shootout win over Freiburg last season.
