Leipzig are joining Manchester United and Chelsea in the race for Salzburg wonderkid Benjamin Sesko. CEO Oliver Mintzlaff met Saturday with Sesko’s agent Elvis Basanovic for a possible switch. However, Leipzig’s main priority remains on bringing in Timo Werner on loan, but troubles with the deal continue at Stamford Bridge.
Sesko has totaled 13 goals in 41 senior appearances at Salzburg. Problems arising over the completion of Timo Werner’s loan could be affiliated with Chelsea’s interest in Sesko. Manchester United would also like to win the sweepstakes for the Slovenian, who’s seen as the future at the striker position. Fabrizio Romano reports that it’s currently a three-horse race.
Sesko’s contract expires in 2026.
