Leeds United on the verge of signing Salzburg right-back Rasmus Kristensen

Leeds United are making their presence felt in the transfer window as they are reportedly closing in on a summer move for RB Salzburg right-back Rasmus Kristensen.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that Leeds are set to reach an agreement with the Austrian outfit over a summer transfer for the Danish full-back.

It was reported days ago that Salzburg were ready to accept an offer of €10 million from the Premier League outfit.

The announcement could be made in the coming days while Kristensen, who is currently with the national team, is expected to have his medicals after the international break.

Kristensen will mark the Whites’ second transfer of the summer window, with his Salzburg teammate Brenden Aaronson’s move to Elland Road made official last week.

With those deals, Leeds manager Jesse Marsch will be able to reunite with two of his talented former proteges, who will strengthen the squad going into the next season.

Kristensen, 24, enjoyed a prolific 2021/22 campaign, netting ten goals and eight assists in all competitions, as well as winning the Austrian Bundesliga and Cup title for the third consecutive time.

He is also considered a key player for the Danish national team heading into the World Cup later this year, having made his debut last September.

Leeds managed to avoid relegation on the final day of the Premier League, beating Brentford 2-1 to finish 17th in the table.

However, Marsch will look to make a big impact from the very beginning of the 2022/23 campaign.
