Every member of Turkey’s professional football disciplinary committee has resigned after a Whatsapp chain of messages about Jose Mourinho was leaked online. The Special One has always been a controversial figure. His passion for football is clear for all to see and the bonds he builds with players and fanbases wherever he goes is unlike anyone else.
He’s never been afraid to speak his mind, though, which has also earned him a few enemies over the years. He’s gone after rival managers, sometimes his own players and even officials. No one is safe when it comes to the former Chelsea coach. His move to Fenerbahce in 2024 is no different. He’s brought all the usual fireworks with him and after his antics rubbed the disciplinary committee the wrong way, they started a text chain talking about him.
The messages are quite damning.

What the Turkey Disciplinary Committee Said About Mourinho
They’ve resigned after their messages leaked
Following his move to Turkey, it didn’t take long for Mourinho to start rubbing people the wrong way. Earlier this year, he was involved in a physical altercation with Galatasaray manager, Okan Buruk. He’s one of the best managers of all time, but he’s an official’s worst nightmare. Now, a text chain between Turkey’s professional football disciplinary committee has leaked online and the messages were so alarming that they’ve all resigned as a result.
According to Turkish outlet Ajansspor, the president of the committee, Celal Nuri Demirturk, told the board that: “We will make him pay for this next season. He has been tolerated too much.”
The Whatsapp exchange is said to have been referring to Mourinho’s attack on Turkish referees after his side faced Galatasaay back in February. After the Special One claimed that his opponents’ bench was ‘jumping up and down like monkeys’, Galatasaray publicly accused the ex-Man United man of racism. He responded by announcing his intention to sue them for the accusation.
Fenerbahce have since responded to the Whatsapp messages that have leaked with an official club statement. As quoted by talkSPORT, they said:
“Our club has made an official application to the Turkish Football Federation in response to the correspondence that has been made public today and is claimed to belong to members of the Professional Football Disciplinary Board. We believe that this hostile mentality, which clearly violates the principle of impartiality and is based on showdowns and revenge, has no place in Turkish Sports.”
