Sergej Milinković-Savić looks well-settled at Lazio these days. But there could be a drastic turn of events in the coming weeks, with a host of suitors showing interest in his services.
According to Il Messaggero, Lazio president Claudio Lotito is awaiting a bidding war between Arsenal and Manchester United for Sergej Milinković-Savić.
The report claims that Lotito wants to accumulate a figure of around €60 million from the sale of the Serbian midfielder in this summer transfer window.
With Paul Pogba sustaining an injury in the pre-season, Juventus have reportedly joined the race to sign another midfielder, understandably identifying Milinković-Savić as a potential cover for the Frenchman.
It will be difficult for the Bianconeri to shell out a figure of that significance. Hence, they have also been monitoring Paris Saint-Germain star Leandro Paredes, who is available in the market at a cheaper price than the 27-year-old.
Milinković-Savić has a contract at Lazio until June 2024. If Lotito doesn’t get his asking price for the midfielder, he will consider keeping him at the Roman club for the 2022/23 season.
