Serie A outfits Lazio are set to miss star man Ciro Immobile for a month due to an injury.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Ciro Immobile has sustained a significant injury to the semitendinosus of his right thigh during Lazio’s game against Empoli. It is difficult to estimate a recovery time for this kind of injury but the initial treatment period is around 15-20 days and it will take at least a month for him to be fully fit.
An official statement from the Biancocelesti confirmed the tests conducted on the player at the Paideia International Hospital today. The report read: “The tests highlighted a distracting trauma to the semitendinosus of the right thigh reported during the match against Empoli. The player has already started specific treatment and will be subjected to daily clinical monitoring. Further instrumental tests will be repeated in the next few days to quantify recovery times.”
Goals from Matteo Guendouzi and Mattia Zaccagni sealed the victory for Maurizio Sarri’s men at the Stadio Carlo Castellani but they are now set to miss their star striker for quite some time. Immobile’s started the match but had to leave the pitch prematurely due to discomfort.
Lazio have a thick run of fixtures coming up which includes clashes against Napoli and Atalanta but Sarri has the belief to frame the right attacking impetus despite his star man’s absence.
