Earlier this summer, Al-Qadsiah’s assault on the La Liga market centred on Ilias Akhomach’s Villarreal’s exciting Moroccan winger. On that occasion, the 20-year-old rejected an big-money move in favour of continuing at Villarreal, and lightning has not struck twice with another Saudi Arabian club.
On this occasion, it was reigning Saudi Pro League champions Al Hilal that presented an enticing offer to Akhomach. However, as reported by Relevo, he has also turned them down as his desire is to remain at La Ceramica.
Akhomach, who joined Villarreal last summer upon the expiry of his Barcelona contract, has also attracted interest from clubs in the Premier League in recent months. He could end up in England at some stage, although it won’t be this summer.
Akhomach is one of several exciting attackers that Villarreal have in their squad for this season. He will be one to watch, as is the case for the Yellow Submarine in La Liga.
