After playing his final match for Paris Saint-Germain in the Coupe de France final on Saturday, Kylian Mbappé (25) quickly assumed new duties at the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday.
The France captain is no stranger to Monaco after playing his football for Les Monégasques at the beginning of his career. Mbappé was welcomed back by the principality as it hosted its annual Formula 1 race which has become one of the most glamorous spectacles on the motorsport calendar.
With the laps counting down quickly towards the close of the race and hometown driver Charles Leclerc leading the race it soon became apparent that the PSG forward had been given the honour of waving the chequered flag as the winner approached the finish line. The winner would be the aforementioned Leclerc as the Ferrari driver ended his horrible run in his home race to the chequered flag being waved by the former Monaco forward.
