
Toni Kroos has been voted Germany’s men’s player of the year by the association of German sports journalists, VDS.
Following his final season as a professional footballer, Toni Kroos has been named Player of the Year by the German Sports Journalists’ Association (VDS), Kicker has revealed.
Participants were able to choose between all German players and players playing in Germany, and Kroos came out on top with 285 votes.
Bayer Leverkusen prodigy Florian Wirtz came in second with 246 votes, while his teammate Granit Xhaka was voted third with 66 votes.

Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso was named coach of the year with 503 votes, ahead of VfB Stuttgart’s Sebastian Hoeness (74 votes) and Heidenheim’s Frank Schmidt (55 votes).
