Kramer unlikely to be fired this week

After a disappointing loss to Leverkusen, the club confirmed in a statement that coach Frank Kramer will be given another chance to show improvement against Hoffenheim next week.

Schalke looked lost in their blowout defeat to Leverkusen, as new coach Frank Kramer still only has one win on the resume through nine league games. Many supporters are clamoring for a change at the top with an impending season-long relegation battle ahead.
A statement from club management to reporters after the game stated that, “The performance of our team has disappointed us excessively today. The coaching staff around Frank Kramer, the team, we are all now challenged to show an improved performance against Hoffenheim in all respects.”

In his press conference following the loss, Kramer tried to avoid the chatter by saying that, “My topic is to work through and analyze the game. Anything else is not my topic.”

Some traveling fans were chanting “Kramer out” throughout the second half at the BayArena.

All eyes will be on Schalke in their home primetime matchup against Hoffenheim next Friday. It very well could be Kramer’s last game in charge of The Royal Blues.
