Wolfsburg coach Niko Kovac has praised Max Kruse for the way the 34-year-old has reacted to his suspension from the team.
Kovac announced last week that Kruse had been permanently booted out of the Wolfsburg squad, citing a lack of professionalism and commitment as the reasons behind his decision.
Before Sunday’s game against Union Berlin, Kovac was asked how Kruse has handled the situation and what the relationship between him and the player is like.
“It has all gone extraordinarily well. There were no problems at all,” Kovac insisted.
“There is nothing negative at all to report about the person Max Kruse. On the contrary, he is a nice person,” he emphasized.
“This week, I haven’t noticed anything negative. Quite the opposite: the atmosphere was very good, very concentrated and focused.”
Nevertheless, the situation remains unchanged – Kruse will not be playing for Wolfsburg again as long as Kovac is in charge.
