Khamzat Chimaev has issued an X-rated reaction to Dricus du Plessis’ dominant win over UFC rival Sean Strickland, whom he beat for a second time atop the UFC 312 pay-per-view card at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia, on Saturday, the 8th of February.
Du Plessis had already beaten Strickland by narrow decision one year ago but his victory in the rematch was far more resolate, as two of the three ringside judges scored it as a shutout win — one in which the South African champion punctuated his prowess in the fourth round by shattering Strickland’s nose, and leaving him wearing a horrific mask of blood.
Chimaev, though, was unimpressed.

Khamzat Chimaev’s X-rated Reaction
Top-ranked middleweight wasn’t impressed with the UFC 312 main event
Chimaev posted his reaction on X, formerly Twitter, immediately after du Plessis’ win.
“Biggest bull-s*** is this fight.”
Du Plessis, 31, is putting together one of the more legendary middleweight runs in all-time UFC history as, since joining the market-leading MMA firm in 2020, the fighter has beaten Darren Till, Derek Brunson, Robert Whittaker, Sean Strickland (twice), and Israel Adesanya. Though he’s lost twice in his entire MMA career, he’s actually unbeaten in the UFC and now has nine wins in a row.
After his latest win, du Plessis had a specific challenger in mind to call out — Alex Pereira.
It’s unlikely a fight that will be made next, though.
UFC boss Dana White told reporters at the post UFC 312 press conference that no decision on du Plessis’ next fight will be made until a matchmaker meeting on Tuesday. He conceded, though, that a bout against Chimaev would be a big one.

Chimaev was widely considered one of the very best prospects in all MMA when he signed with the UFC in 2020, and then toyed with his opponents. However, a bout with COVID appeared to de-rail his MMA campaign. Since then, he’s returned to the Octagon with a bang, defeating Kamaru Usman and Robert Whittaker. He is currently the No.3-ranked middleweight in the UFC’s rankings.
