According to Le Parisien, Keylor Navas (36) rejected the opportunity to join Al-Hilal in favour of staying in Paris this summer. Al-Hilal approached Navas over a potential transfer in the summer transfer window. However, the Costa Rican stopper’s family are happy in the French capital and Navas is happy to be Gianluigi Donnarumma’s backup for PSG moving forwards.
Since the former Nottingham Forest loanee rejected the chance to move to the Gulf State, Al-Hilal have signed Yassine Bounou from Sevilla. In addition to interest from Saudi Arabia, the former Real Madrid goalkeeper was the subject of interest from Inter Milan, Fenerbahçe and Premier League clubs in the summer, according to Foot Mercato.
Navas impressed on loan at Nottingham Forest last season, playing 17 as he helped them secure Premier League safety. Luis Enrique is impressed by the quality of the 36-year-old’s passing and is counting on him should anything unforeseen prevent Donnarumma from donning the goalkeeping jersey.
