A sidelined member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is considered as, potentially, being ahead of schedule in his recovery efforts.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Gavi as the player in question.
Gavi, for his part, has of course been sidelined since November of last year, after suffering a ruptured ACL in his right knee during an appearance for the Spanish national team.
He has since been forced to watch on from the sidelines as his teammates, all too often, have toiled, a no doubt painful experience for a player who has long made clear his undying love for the Blaugrana.
Turning attentions towards Gavi’s efforts to mark his return to the pitch, though, things, thus far, have progressed smoothly.
The 19-year-old has not suffered any form of setback or problem in his rehab sessions, looking spritely during his individualised programme under the watch of new boss Hansi Flick and his coaching staff in pre-season.
And as much, it has today been revealed, could ultimately culminate in Gavi returning to competitive action sooner than expected.
As per the aforementioned MD:
‘If he continues with the same evolution, it is not ruled out that Gavi could reduce his return by a few weeks, initially planned for next November.’
