As reported by Florian Plettenberg, Kevin Schade has completed his Brentford medical ahead of joining the Premier League club on loan with a reported €25m obligation to buy.
Brentford originally had an offer rejected for Schade in the region of €15m in July but they have continued their efforts to sign the individual.
The 21-year-old joined Freiburg in 2021 from Energie Cottbus. Schade has made eight appearances for Freiburg in the first half of the Bundesliga season, scoring once in Freiburg’s 2-2 draw with Hertha Berlin.
The eventual sale of Schade will be the joint second most expensive sale of Freiburg equalling the likes of Nico Schlotterbeck’s move to Borussia Dortmund last summer and Maximilian Philipp’s move to Borussia Dortmund in 2017, both costing €20m.
Freiburg currently sit second in the Bundesliga and have continued their form from last season when they came close to the Champions League qualification and reached the DFB Pokal final. They have also qualified out of their Europa League group unbeaten.
