When players decide to move on to pastures new, they do so in the hope that their professional fortunes improve, however, for one former Leicester City ace, the absolute opposite appears to have been the case.
Kelechi Iheanacho signed for Sevilla in the summer, but in his four games so far for the Andalusian outfit, he’s failed to find the net or provide an assist (transfermarkt).
Clearly, the Spanish top-flight side expected much more from a player who, at 27, could reasonably be expected to be in his prime as a player.
Had they done their homework, they would’ve realised that he’s only managed to get on the score sheet on 22 occasions in all competitions over the past three seasons.
As Estadio Deportivo report, Sevilla manager, Garcia Pimienta, isn’t convinced by his new front man who put in another ‘discreet’ performance in their match against Real Valladolid.
It’s not clear how long he’ll be given to turn things around, but Iheanacho’s nightmare continues for now.
