As reported by AS via French outlet L’Equipe, Karim Benzema signed a new deal with Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez in recent days.
The new contract will see him stay with Real Madrid until 2024. The 35-year-old’s current deal expires in June and L’Equipe also report that his contract extension will be made official in the coming weeks.
Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Nacho and Marco Asensio are all coming to the end of their current deals this summer.
Benzema back for Champions League
The French striker had been carrying an ankle knock but is expected to start against Liverpool tonight. Ferland Mendy is also back in training with the rest of the squad but is likely to be on the bench at the Bernabéu.
Uruguay U20 international Álvaro Rodríguez didn’t take to the field yesterday but has been included in the squad for the Champions League second leg against the Reds. David Alaba is still recovering from the injury he suffered during the first leg at Anfield.
