Kahn and Salihamidzic sacked despite title

Germany’s main sporting tabloid and its preeminent footballing publication are now both reporting that Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic are both due to be dismissed despite the fact that FC Bayern München were just able to secure their 11th consecutive Bundesliga title.

Mere minutes after FC Bayern München dramatically secured their 11th consecutive Bundesliga title, reports began emerging from many reputable German footballing media sources that the German giants have already decided to part company with chief executive Oliver Kahn and top sporting manager Hasan Salihamidzic.

A decision that was meant to be deferred until a supervisory board meeting on Tuesday was evidently already made prior to kickoff on Saturday. Germany’s “Sport Bild” tabloid and Kicker Magazine are both reporting this. Kicker journalist Georg Holzner claims that Bayern board member Jan-Christian Dreesen is line for promotion to one of the posts.
