Juventus have now all but sealed the signing of Valencia’s young defender Facundo Gonzalez.
Sky Italia confirm what has been reported elsewhere, stating that the Bianconeri now have the 20-year-old in hand and work is being conducted with Valencia to thrash out the final few details of the move. All of the details are likely to be sorted by next week.
Contacts with the player’s entourage were initiated about a month ago and this led to the Old Lady making progress over time. They managed to beat competition from several teams, with some Italian clubs previously interested in the player. Gonzalez will put pen to paper on a Juventus contract next week and once he joins, a decision will be made whether he will play for the first-team or whether he will be loaned out.
Gonzalez was a key player in the Under-20s World Cup with Uruguay. In the competition, he played 7 games keeping a clean sheet on 6 occasions.
