Juventus are looking to hijack Crystal Palace’s deal to sign Evann Guessand, according to The Telegraph.
However, the young forward is still likely to join Palace, who are in advanced negotiations with Aston Villa over a loan move that could include an option to buy at the end of the season.
Guessand arrived at Villa last summer in a deal worth £30.4m.
But the move hasn’t worked out for him, with the 24-year-old making no goal contributions in 13 Premier League appearances.
Guessand hopes to revive his career at another club, with Villa ready to sanction a transfer this winter.
Palace has endured a challenging 2025-26 campaign, as they sit 15th in the league standings after recording just 28 points from 23 matches.
In a bid to make a comeback during the second half of the season, Oliver Glasner’s side have splashed a £35m fee to sign Brennan Johnson from Tottenham Hotspur.
But they want further attacking reinforcements, with Jean-Philippe Mateta linked with an exit before the transfer deadline.
Nottingham Forest have made a £35m offer for Mateta, but Palace are holding out for £40m.
The Eagles appeared close to sealing a move for Jorgen Strand Larsen, but the proposed move is now in doubt.
The South Londoners are not willing to match Wolves’ £50m price tag for the Norwegian who has scored just one Premier League goal this season.
