Bayern Munich head coach Julian Nagelsmann is confident that Sadio Mané will be back to his best with the former Liverpool forward currently on a 327 minute goal drought.
“He’s very self-reflective and knows when he has played well and when he hasn’t,” Nagelsmann told reporters. “He’s very humble and down to earth. He will produce his best again. He has my full backing and will score and assist plenty more goals for us.”
Mané’s last goals for Bayern Munich came in the Rekordmeister’s 7-0 win at Bochum on August 21, matchday three. Prior to his brace against Bochum, the 30-year-old scored against RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt. Since his €38m move from Liverpool, Mané has scored four in nine games for Bayern.
Ahead of their game against Augsburg on Saturday, Nagelsmann has confirmed that both Lucas Hernández and Kingsley Coman are absent through injury but Dayot Upamecano and Benjamin Pavard are both available despite taking previous knocks. Joshua Kimmich is also expected to start in midfield despite an increased number of games in a short period. It’s still undecided who will start alongside the 27-year-old.
