Speaking ahead of Bayern Munich’s game against Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga on Friday night, head coach Julian Nagelsmann discussed self-criticism following their 1-0 defeat against Augsburg.
“It’s always important to question yourself,” said Nagelsmann. “I watched all the game again and did a lot of analysis. We discussed everything with the team today because we had everyone available in training after the international break. I’m confident that we’ll play a good game tomorrow.”
When further asked about criticism, Nagelsmann added: “I take every criticism to heart when it’s brought to my attention. Every one of us must feel responsibility and I feel it too. I know that I invest a lot for the job. I’m not responsible for everything, the players aren’t either. It’s a team game.”
Prior to the international break, Bayern Munich suffered their first defeat of the season. A 1-0 loss at Augsburg, the Rekordmeister are fifth in the table, five points behind leaders Union Berlin.
