Julian Brandt is close to signing a contract extension with Borussia Dortmund, according to Sky Germany’s Sven Westerschulze. Both parties are close to reaching an agreement, with just the contract length still being negotiated.
Borussia Dortmund want to sign Brandt to a long-term contract, but the 26-year-old is hesitating. Talks appear to be in the final stages with Brandt’s current BVB deal expiring in 2024.
With eight goals and four assists in 24 Bundesliga games for Borussia Dortmund this season, Brandt has improved significantly under Edin Terzic and is one of the club’s key players in the final third. In Dortmund’s 4-2 defeat against Bayern Munich, Brandt returned from injury after missing successive games.
It was reported last month that Borussia Dortmund were eager to enter contract negotiations with Brandt, who has previous interest from Premier League clubs Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
It’s a busy period for Sporting Director Sebastian Kehl, who is working on a deal to sign Borussia Mönchengladbach defender Ramy Bensebaini.
