In an emotional video posted on his Twitter page, Jules Koundé said goodbye to Sevilla.
Yesterday afternoon an agreement in principle was announced between Barcelona and Sevilla over the transfer of the French defender before it became official a couple of hours later.
The deal between the clubs is believed to be worth €50 million plus add-ons.
Koundé used his social media channels to say goodbye to Sevilla:
“Good evening, Sevillistas. It’s time to say goodbye to you. I wanted to say a few words to you. Above all, thank you. Thank you very much for everything. For the love and support I have received since I arrived. It was an honour and a source of pride to belong to this club, to play for this crest and wear this shirt.”
The Frenchman reflected on his favourite memories with Los Rojiblancos, including playing in the Sevilla derby against Real Betis:
“I’m also going to take away a lot of memories of El Gran Derbi, which I’m very lucky to have been able to experience”.
Koundé made 133 appearances for Sevilla in all competitions and won the Europa League with the team in 2020.
