Fenerbahçe head coach José Mourinho has come to the decision to pull the plug on the club’s January swoop for Barcelona starlet Ansu Fati.
That’s according to Diario Sport, citing Marca, who have on Monday provided an insight into the situation.
Amid what has been a difficult start to the season for the 21-year-old back on the books of Barcelona, Ansu has been tipped for a potential mid-season loan exit.
And one club frequently tipped as a potential landing spot for the Spaniard come in the form of the aforementioned Fenerbahçe.
Amid an ongoing search for attacking reinforcements for the 2nd half of the campaign, the Turkish heavyweights had earmarked Ansu as the ideal addition.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest word steming from the media on Monday is anything to go by, then no such transfer will be forthcoming.
As per Sport, owing to the latest injury suffered by Ansu, José Mourinho has made the call to drop Fener’s interest, to turn attentions towards alternative targets.
