In the recent game between Osasuna and Barcelona, the focus was not only on the final outcome but also on the debut of Barça’s two latest signings, Joao Félix and Joao Cancelo. Additionally, Íñigo Martínez, who couldn’t be registered earlier, made his debut.
Regarding João’s debut, Deco, the Barcelona sporting director, praised the effort that went into the transfer, however, it’s important to note that this deal involves intricate contract details.
There is no buy option or right of first refusal for Barça in João Félix’s contract and the club is responsible for covering the player’s salary.
Interestingly, the forward has also played his part in this by accepting a significant reduction in his earnings, as journalist Pedro Morata revealed on his personal Twitter account. He will earn €400,000 for this season, a substantial decrease from his previous salary.
