RMC Sport report this morning that the French FA is set to name Jean-François Vilotte as its new General Manager, following the dismissal of Florence Hardouin back in February. The latter had been suspended in early January, before initially being sacked for gross conduct – the FFF then reportedly decided against this and instead dismissed her on the grounds of the findings of the government-mandated audit of the organisation. Hardouin is set to take the FFF to court over her dismissal.
Vilotte, a lawyer at the Paris Bar, has previously held the same position within the French Tennis Federation. He was among the candidates who were interviewed this week, with the shortlist also including Charline Avenel, the rector of the Versailles Academy. The former Minister for Youth and Sports, Najat Vallaud-Belkacem, was also interviewed, despite initially not being included among the finalists.
The FFF had hired headhunting cabinet Spencer & Stewart to select various candidates, with Vilotte – an arbiter at the Court of Arbitration for Sport – emerging as the favourite. Erwan Le Prévost, director for institutional relations at the FFF, was the only internal candidate in the running.
