Jan Oblak spoke to DAZN after Atlético Madrid lost against FC Barcelona at the Metropolitano in La Liga on Sunday night.
“We played a good game. In the first 25 minutes, we started badly, then we pressed well, we had chances, we had shots on goal. We played a good game in general and we could have scored a goal,” he told DAZN in words reported by Mundo Deportivo.
“We started the first 25 minutes badly, with fear, little confidence. Then we woke up, but at 0-1, it was more difficult. We should have started like that. Barça scored, it’s then more difficult.
“We did everything we could but the ball didn’t go in. There weren’t many clear chances but some could have gone in.”
Oblak couldn’t find a clear explanation as to why Atlético started poorly, given that they were coming into the game on the back of four consecutive victories.
“It doesn’t make sense how we came out because in the last few games, we played well.
“I hope that doesn’t happen to us [again], but that we play with confidence. We know how to play, we have good players and we have to start the game like that from the first minute, not when they score a goal,” he concluded.
